DRAWING COMPETITION

Drawing Competitions are necessary for students as it makes them work harder and try their level best in the meantime. The competition not only aims to motivate children to express their views on various topics and themes but shall also provide them a platform to explore their creativity.

The competition will contribute by allowing children to imagine and create and develop creative thinking skills.

We strongly believe it is important to nurture and invoke the creativity in school going students by giving them an opportunity to display and communicate through their artworks.

Our goal is to promote students to take up arts to develop their creativity and express their feelings.

To achieve this goal our centre has come up with an unique idea of organizing Drawing Competition with a social objective of encouraging students to acquire a linking for drawing and painting.

HARMONY ARTS DRAWING COMPETITION

This competition is open to all school going students of Thane city and nearby. In this competition the artwork should be done from home by the student on the drawing paper provided by Harmony Arts. The selected artworks will be exhibited in the art gallery and uploaded on the official website of the Centre. All the participants will get certificates and exciting prizes will be awarded to winners. The artworks will be scrutinized by a panel of judges.

The Registration fee is Rs. 50/- for each artwork and students can send a maximum of five artworks.

The Entry forms are available at the centre up to 20th January, 2012.

The last date for submission of artworks is on or before 31st January, 2012

AWARDS AND PRIZES

All participants will receive a Certificate.
All selected students will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
The selected artworks will be exhibited in the Art Gallery as well as official website of the Centre.
The best three entries in each group will be awarded a Trophy, Gift Hamper and Certificate.

JUDGES

A panel of Art Teachers / Eminent Artist will judge the artworks.
The artworks will be judged on the basis of their artistic content and their relevance to the given subjet.
The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The competition is open for Junior KG to Tenth standard students only.
Registration fee Rs. 50/- each artwork (non-refundable), students can send maximum five artworks.
Students are requested to fill up the entry form properly and form details on the back of their artwork also.
The artwork without entry form will not be accepted.
The artwork must be done from home and on the the drawing paper provided by Harmony Arts.
The artwork can be made in any medium.
All artworks will be judged within 60 days from the last date of submission.
All artworks must be original and should not be a reproduction of greeting cards, posters, photographs, tracing will not be accepted.
In each group, top seventy entries will appear for final competition.
The names of the selected artworks will be informed via email or phone.
The Centre reserves the right to retain all artworks sent to the competition and the same will not be returned to the students.

The academic year of 2010-2011 has been very exciting and fruitful for the growth of the Centre and its students. We would like you, to share our experience and achievements during this year.

We live in an age of modern technology, where our kids spend a major time watching television, playing video games or surfing computer. The child is born to create, but it needs opportunities to stimulate his creativity and imagination.

Art is one of the most important medium in a child’s development and a way to discover his hidden talent. We should encourage our child to learn drawing and painting which will help him / her to develop their self-confidence and moral.
What a great feeling a child has, when he says,
“I can draw that”.

Artist's Thought : This is a humming bird trying to secrete nectar from the flower during sun set. Except the bird, all the other drawing is done with poster colours but with a water colour effect. Due to the eye the bird is looking very bold. The bird is very small and very cute. In elementary exam the method of nature drawing is shown by me in my flower.

Great Artist Amrita Shergill

Amrita Shergill

One of the most promising Indian artists of the pre-colonial era, youngest ever and the only Asian to be elected as Associate of the Grand Salon in Paris.

Amrita Shergill was born in Hungary in 1913. Her father was a Sikh aristocrat and her mother was Hungarian. Both her parents were artistically inclined. Her father, Umrao Singh Majitha, was a sanskrit scholar and her mother, Marie Antoinette, was a pianist. Amrita spent her early childhood in the village of Dunaharasti in Hungary. In 1921 her family moved to Shimla. It was at this time that Amrita Shergil developed interest in painting. An Italian sculpture used to live in Shimla. In 1924, when the Italian sculpture moved to Italy, Amrita Sherigill's mother too moved with her along with Amrita.

In Italy Amrita was enrolled at Santa Anunciata, a Roman Catholic institution. Amrita did not like the strict discipline of the Catholic school but on the flip side she was exposed to the works of the Italian masters and this fanned her interest in painting. In 1927, Amrita Shergil returned to India and began taking lessons in painting under Ervin Backlay. But Ervin's insistence that Amrita should copy real life models exactly as she saw them irked Amrita and thus her painting stint under Ervin Backlay was short lived.

In 1937, Amrita Shergill went on a tour of South India. This gave her the opportunity to achieve the simplicity she always wanted in her paintings. In 1938, Amrita Shergill went to Hungary and married her cousin Victor Egan much to the opposition of her parents. She married purely for security reasons as she felt that she was essentially weak and needed someone to take care of her. In 1939, Amrita Shergill returned back to India and started painting again. After her return her health deteriorated and she died on December 6, 1941.

Why Encourage Your Child To Learn Drawing?

Art is the most important medium in child's development. Art is not only an art medium, it is a language medium. Nature has given them to ensure mental development in the meantime.

Studying art helps children find a hidden ability and develop their special talent. Art helps children discover the joy of creating. We live in an age of technology, where many kids spend large amounts of time in front of computers, televisions, or video games. Their tendency is to sit and watch. However, we were created to create, and today, especially, young people need opportunities to stimulate their imaginations.

Learning about the arts gives children a window onto the rich and interesting world around them. It cultivates self-expression, imagination and creativity as well as critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Children who learn about art develop their capacities to weigh meanings and make evaluations and judgments. Understanding and making art can teach children how to work co-operatively in groups and how to work hard to achieve a goal.

Welcome To Harmony Arts

   From past 21 years I was in a search of a "Guru". A Mentor that could revive the feeling of art that I already had in my aesthetic senses. But I needed a guru who could encourage the perception of mine towards my art. Thankfully heavens from above bestowed me with an artistic Guru Mr Bhagvanta Bandal.

   This person who has cultivated that passion of art in my inner senses. I initially used to think that art was just a copy past item. (just copying the picture) But today I understand the true meaning of Art. The concept of drawing an object needed patience and concentration.

   Thanks to Harmony Arts Training Centre for reviving the thoughts for art thanks to Mr. Narayan More for bringing a practical approach in Drawing.

Welcome To Harmony Arts

The art which is done with harmonium is only called as Harmony Arts. This is the reason our teacher has given this name to our drawing class and in this Drawing Class children do their work with a type of spirit. They also give their co-operation with our respective teachers.

According to me this drawing class gives me all experiences that I had before it. For your children you had chose a good class which you will not get anywhere. Children also participate in creating their mind thoughts which I as a child like the most. Creating our mind with art is one of the necessity in a child. With this, I complete my experiences and thoughts.

About Us

Art is our passion and almost an obsession. This is a way to transcribe our imagination and to share it with others. We love to experiment with new ideas and create our works which are not just abstract but meaningful. To bring the creation in reality we use different types of mediums such as oil, water, acrylic, siporex, metal and many more.

We sincerely thank to our collectors in India and abroad who put trust and faith in our work and are a constant source of encouragement for us to perform better in future.

We have professionally qualified team whose inputs are very precious for the success of HARMONY ARTS.

We works under the guidance of Mr. Bhagvanta Gunaji Baandal, who is fascination for art started at an early age but could not focus on it. His academic background speaks for it. He passed commerce degree and like everybody went on to work in a govt. organization. But he realized that his heart was not with him at the workplace and he need to do what his heart wanted to. His job commitment gave little time for his artistic growth and a day arrived when he traded his good salaried secured job for his passion and since then he couldn't have been much happier than he is now.

The decisive year was 1998, when he joined the elite academic institute of J.J.School of Arts and took upon art to make it as a career. With pleasure and happiness he take up custom orders to create pieces of art which are special.
